I recently bought a car (light truck actually) and the front windows have an adhesive tinted sheet stuck to them. Tinted windows in the state are illegal, and I don't like them anyways. I can peel small sections off, but then the windows are really sticky. I was thinking just a warm soap water solution might help remove the tinting as well as the stickyness.
any secret hints otherwise?
What I Did: I tried two different suggestions. On one window, I heated up the tinting and managed to peel off most of it in one try, saving only a few spots for a straight razor. The rubbing alcohol worked, but was rather time consuming.
On the other window, I used a large, heavy rock. It removed the tinting, and most of the window. It was very quick, but left glass slivers in my butt.
Thanks for the ideas.
