Haven't you noticed that no matter what you do it come up anyway? Installing Windows updates.. everything. MSN messenger is evil and it slows down Outlook like the page says. It's a good download.

You could always delete the Messenger folder, as I did. Then it certainly won't come up.

'Sides, it takes less than a second for Outlook to load on my computer. Did it take a lot longer on yours?

Edit: Hmmm....when did I pass 400? Time certainly does fly.

Or you could go to the run dialog box and type:

"RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove"

and hit Enter :D

Removing the splash screen from OE makes it load quite a bit faster, and is fairly easy to do as well.

To remove the 'splash' screen that appears when opening Outlook Express, you will need to modify the registry. If you are comfortable doing so, run "regedit.exe" Navigate down to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Identities, {dei-asdiofew-avieoadi-whatever}, Software, Microsoft, then click on "Outlook Express, then 5.x" On the right pane, right-click on a blank area, choosing "New" then "DWORD Value." Name this value "NoSplash." Right-click on the new DWORD Value you made and choose "Modify." On the dialog box that appears, enter "1" as the value data and press OK to close the dialog box. Now, close Registry Editor.

Open OE again, and wala, no stupid 2 second delay. Yay!

Edit: Fixed the instructions - I left out one line....my bad. Should work fine now.

The OE splash removal worked for me, though can hardly say it shaded 2 secs off the loading of it lol ;)

*Adds to handy registry patch list import file*
