Best way to receive a 3.5GB file without setting up an FTP or something?

I've been talking to someone online who needs to send me a 3.5GB file and is too n00bish for anything like FTP. He certainly isn't going to email it to me. What is a simple, recommended, service-like tool for doing this with large files with resume support? Thanks!

Can I make a tracker for a file he has? I don't think I could easily walk him through doing that on his end and a service would limit troubleshooting connection issues (if we are the only peers, a problem could mean the whole effort was wasted).

I think I'll send him a batch file that creates a bunch of 50MB cabinet files and ask him to drop the results in Windows Live SkyDrive. Thanks for the input, guys.

Boy, do I miss the days of sending a file through ICQ directly. Of course, I know why those days are long-gone and I'm not saying that we should go back to having every machine be routable on the net, but still: missed.

Instruct him to download the Portable version of TeamViewer and run it.

Do the same thing on your computer.

Get the Id and password that is computer generated. Enter it to your computer and copy the File from his to yours.

You can do Logmein Express which is really simple to get htem to do and you get control and you could just set up the tracker.

But yeah the easiest way would just to have him burn it and fedex it to you.

Not very fast... 3.5GB would take overnight probably. I get around 50-150kB/s

Depends on the distance and the cost of shipping to determine if it's worth it or not.
