Best way to reattach stock fan for Step-Up?

I recently bought an eVGA 7800gt and am looking to step-up to a 7900gt. I put an NV Silencer on the 7800, and am wondering if I can safely use the white thermal pads included with the silencer on the RAM when I reattach the stock fan.

The silencer had some thicker gray RAM pads already applied, with the extra white ones for the passive RAM backplate, which I didn't need. When I removed the stock fan it had similar white RAM pads, but I just want to be sure these others would be good enough to get it through the testing when I send it back in.

I've heard many say not to use AS5 on the RAM, but I didn't want to get some Ceramique unless it was absolutely necessary. Thanks for any advice!

i think as long as the parts are there and it's not damaged, evga will make it usable as a refurb to sell.
As long as it isn't physically damaged, you can even RMA it I believe so I don't think you'll havea problem. just be careful when you put the heatsink on.

The evga warrenty covers all the third party fan stuff, so hopefully you saved all the junk when you took the fan off.

So just put all the junk back on. (and improvise when nessasary)

And I think the evga step up FAQ says that it has to be "working, and no physically damaged and in original box with papers and manual and other stuff".
