I recently bought an eVGA 7800gt and am looking to step-up to a 7900gt. I put an NV Silencer on the 7800, and am wondering if I can safely use the white thermal pads included with the silencer on the RAM when I reattach the stock fan.
The silencer had some thicker gray RAM pads already applied, with the extra white ones for the passive RAM backplate, which I didn't need. When I removed the stock fan it had similar white RAM pads, but I just want to be sure these others would be good enough to get it through the testing when I send it back in.
I've heard many say not to use AS5 on the RAM, but I didn't want to get some Ceramique unless it was absolutely necessary. Thanks for any advice!
