Obviously not, or we wouldn't be reading your thread. You have the 'desire', willpower is what you are lacking. There's a huge difference there.

I really wanted to quit and I've got willpower. I tried several times to quit before I got Chantix I only took it for one week which was 1/2 dose to get your body used to it, after the first day of the meds I didn't smoke and haven't had the slightest urge yet(4 years later). Addiction is a strange beast and effects people differently some people have no problems kicking certain habits that others will struggle with endlessly.

Luckalie I have only been smoking for 2-3 years. I hope it will be easier then a 10 plus year smoker. Thanks for your stories there def a good enchouragment. Its more then being weak minded thou. Its addiction is a dieses. Luckalie its not as bad as alot of them out there.

I smoked for that long before I quit. It's been about 8 months. I run and exercise regularly, but the long lasting side effects are evident. I think if you smoke for greater than 1 year, you will pay for life.

Quit now, mang.

I quit cold turkey. This might be unhealthy in itself, but the way I was able to quit and stay quit was I planted a permanent thought in my head that I am receiving less oxygen and slowly killing myself.

Just don't smoke. I'm nearing my 3 year mark after smoking for ~18 years pack a day.

Just don't smoke, it is that easy. Trust me I tried everything before realizing that I just needed to not smoke ever again. Also check out Allen Carr's "Easy Way to Quit Smoking" book. Excellent read.

EDIT: Crap, I didn't read the mod note.

I quit by taking chantix. It gave me the craziest dreams tho. I took it for 2 weeks and had to stop taking it because the dreams would wake me up and I would be freaking out. It made me quit smoking tho
