Best way to play MP3s over car stereo?

I just got a 2005 Infiniti FX35 and am looking for the best way to get my MP3s to play over my car stereo. I got the upgraded Bose system in it so I'm looking for something which has extremely good quality and is pretty easy to install since its a lease. Unfortunately the CD player in it is not MP3 compatible (that changed in the 06) so that is not an option.

I was thinking about getting an Ipod Nano, a pro clip, and FM transmitter, but I heard transmitters are horrible quality. So does anyone have any suggestions that don't involve me spending a day taking the console apart?

Bose is an upgrade? Calling yoyoyomyjello, flame needed in aisle 4.

Wait, you got an upgraded stereo system in your upscale SUV and it doesn't play MP3 CDs? I'd ask for a full refund, that's just weak.

Well does it have a aux in jack? You can do a mini to mini from MP3 player to the aux in jack.

Can you just get a new head unit? It would be the best option... anything else involves having wires and stuff running around every day. Might be a hassle now but think about down the road... all the convenience.

My truck as an mp3 in-dash player and I absolutely love it. I only have to change CD's every 10 hours or so.

The Bose in my friend's Infiniti sounds like CRAP. I always think the bass is turned up, when it never is, and sometimes is even turned down. It sounds like a ghetto hoopdie and makes my head hurt.

They should sticky this post and every other variation to the top of this forum 😉

All joking aside, hard wiring is the best way to get good SQ. Scosche makes adapters, as well as a few other well known mfg's. Check crutchfield or google for your model stereo/car and a hardwired adapter. Might also want to check a car forum specific to your car and find out what other owners are using.

No AUX input since I didn't get the DVD package. There are hacks to add it to the console, but I don't want to bother with that. I really couldn't care less that some people will bitch about it being Bose. It sounds unbelievable and that's what I care about.

Is this going to come down to either a FM transmitter or a cassette converter?

I think this is the best method too. No wires to worry about. No connecting and reconnecting every time you leave the car. At around $200 you can surely find a nice indash mp3 deck. Check out Crutchfield. They may even have a kit and wiring harness so there's no cutting or modifications involved.

I'll take a look at a new deck but I'm not sure if it would work or not. There really isn't clean cut radio deck in the console as the radio is part of the FX's information system and monitor in the middle of the dash.

Dude, sweet car. Love those things, which is weird because it's not really my style.😕

Problem is this becomes a huge hassle if you have bose equipment. Ideally you would need to replace all the speakers also. It'd be easier just to connect an external mp3 with the aux input.
