Best way to make a custom side panel?

Hello all -

I'm fairly new to the whole custom-modding scene, and I am going to be building a new WC'd Gaming Box and I want my side panel to be cut in the shape of a hemp leaf... ( i know it sounds juvenille ) but i think that if the entire inside of the case glowed green, that would look pretty sweet. Does anyone have an idea as to whom would do this or how i could do it myself? I am a terrible artist and know i can't make the cuts myself. Any help/ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

LOL, that's an interesting idea. I have a couple of friends that would probably pay good money for a mod like that.

Do you know of any company that will draw/cut it for me? I cannot draw for crap and i do not trust my ability to cut it decently even if it's pre-drawn

i'd say do it yourself, too. a custom water or laser cut job would be exspensive. www.mnpctech.com does some awesome custom cases, you might want to check him out and maybe ask for a quote if your desperate. but he also has guides (many sites do) of cutting custom windows.

all you need is some patience making sure you draw the cutting lines down exactly the way you want it to look. then spend a few hours slow cutting it out and another hour filing and sanding the edges.

if you werent planning to repaint the panel, you would need to be extra careful not to lose control of the cutting disk which will cause ugly scrapes and scrathes along the panel.

even if your cut is not 100% perfect, it will look fine after you put it up with the green lights.

by the way, SVC has dual green CCFL kits for 2.99 + shipping. cheapest i've seen around.

all in all, i think the feeling of accomplish a custom job like this yourself is well worth the time and effort. 🙂 hth and good luck!

Thanks for all the great advice everyone! I think i am going to do try it myself.. just don't know with what yet. Thanks again though guys!

hmm... get a small 'smoke maker' and let the smoke comes out of your case, little by little...

that's going to make it more 'artistic'
hahaha

maybe you can throw some joints inside of the case.
