Best way to look for a job in a new city?

I'll be moving at the end of May (yes it's a long time from now, but I want to do what I can) to a city 2 hours from where I live now. I'm going to be changing schools and need to find a new job as well. What's the best way to get a job asap upon moving to a new city or beforehand? Since I'm in school I don't really have any qualifications for anything. I was thinking something like data entry would be sufficent as all I really need to do is pay rent and buy gas. Any ideas? Should I look now?

Does your school offer a work study program? They're usually the best jobs for college students.

Hmm, not sure if the new one does or not. I'm sure they do. But I'm only going to be in my second year, do they go for older students?

Well, while that very well may end up being what I have to do, I'd really rather not. Basically, while I'm in school I just want to get stuck in a cubicle for 8 hours doing something asinine. It'd help me meet people on top of being easy work.

What are the odds of me being able to get maybe an in house web design position? I'm no HTML master by any means but I can definitely do a well enough job. How about "the computer guy?" The one that fixes everyones computer when they "lose a file" or installs new hardware and teaches employees how to use new software?

I used to live near D.C. and always saw ads for software and web design interns. Great way to get started.
