best way to lock down mice in a computer lab?

mice have a tendency to walk away from my lab, or (more often) get plugged into other computers. (seems the kids think it's hilarious to have 3 mice on 1 computer.) all other solutions have been tried; all i want to do now is secure the mice to the individual computers so they can't be moved. adhesive only if absolutely necessary, i'd prefer something with a lock so it's easier to swap mice if i need to, or reorganize the lab. suggestions?

oh right, computers are crt imacs.

Cover mouse plugs with gel deordorant. When they stick their hand on that, they'll be so grossed out wondering WTF it is that they'll forget they were trying to steal the mouse in the first place.

Tie a knot in the mouse cable, then put the loop of the knot into a self-adhesive clip attached to the keyboard or chassis.

If you want to make it permanent, tear off the self-adhesive pad on the underside of the clip and use epoxy instead. Add a little epoxy to the clip itself so it can't be opened.

You can actually buy metal loops that fit in the standard lock slots for this specific application.

The metal loops are like $10-15 apiece, though. 🙁

If there is a place on the case for a lock, ziptie the mousecord to that lock slot. It's not secure at all - but its worked well over here since stealing mice is usually a crime of convience.
