I looked up "how to solve etc" on google and couldn't understand what they were talking about - way too complicated. Does anyone know a sure-fire, simple way to learn to do this?

I want to impress someone with my amazing skills, but i don't actually HAVE amazing skills.

Help me ATOT, you're my only hope.

Yikes that looks bad. Themesong is worse.

I used these two links, but the first one has changed since i last saw it:

I still love twistin my cube around even though I learned how to solve it long ago. Still, my best time ever is only like 1:30, that's a minute thirty, not an hour thirty :D

cubesmith.com for stickers that will actually stay on after more than 2 uses. Also helps to take it apart and lube it up with silicon spray, there are other videos that show you how to do that. Could save that part for when you can actually solve it though.

Kinda like America after right-wing policies.

Unfortunately Craig, the left hasn't been doing much better of late.
Both sides are so deep into the pockets of their corporate owners that "we the people" just get it stuck in our asses.

A rubiks cube is actually pretty easy to solve. You have to memorize some algorithms, but after some practice, they become trivial.

I haven't touched a rubiks cube in at least two years, so I've forgotten the algorithms, but's not too hard to pick up. I'm more interested in solving my 4x4 and 5x5 cube that's taunting me on my desk. And no, I won't take them apart... taking apart a 3x3 is easy since it's only like 15 pieces while a 4x4 is a ridiculous amount.

lol, that's messed up.

The way I learned was using this technique
http://www.alchemistmatt.com/cube/Denny3x3/terminology/terminology.html

Once you master the first sets of moves, they really become second nature and you don't need to remember a specific sequence, you just do it.

From the Middle Layer onward requires some memorization. In all, maybe 5-6 long sequences that you'll need to memorize, and those just get repeated at certain points.

This isn't the fastest method, but I like it a lot as its easy to memorize (the different sequences have similarities to each other). At my best, I can solve a cube in 1 minute 30 using this technique. A far cry from 10 seconds, but I also learned how to do it in about a day.

But take the time to learn, its a fun little trick and you'll be sure to impress people :)

I always solve it top bottom then middle. The easy way is to just memorize the set of movements you need to move the colors around at each step of solving. So start with memorizing how to make the top of the cube all one color and keep doing that until you can get it easy then move onto the bottom (focus on learning corners first then sides) then learn how to fix the middle. There's other orders to go in too I was just using the way I do it as an example.

I bought a cube for fun at Christmas last year and found a site for it. I think I had the first one solved in 30 minutes, and then it got faster after that.
