Best way to hook up a DVD player to my TV?

MaxDSP

Lifer
Ive got a DVD player with svideo and rca outputs, but the TV only has a coax input. I tried hooking up the tv to a vcr via coax, then hooking up the vcr to the dvd player with the rca cables, but that didnt work.

Are there any coax-rca or svideo-coax coverters that I can pick up to make this work? Or any cheap DVD players that have a coax output?

EDIT: Found what Im looking for...thanks everyone 😀🙂

They sell these converters that you plug in the RCA into it and it converts the signal to Coax, they sell them at walmart for like 20 dollars, but seriously you should get a new TV.

I believe the converter boxes are called RF Modulators. I had to use one for my old TV. They go for around $15-25

yep, searching some stores for it online now...thanks...😀

as for buying a new TV, we already have like 6 TVs in the house (4 of them newer than the one I have), and all of the others ones are 25" and over and too big for my room (well, the cabinet anyway)...but Ill see how these RF modulators ones work out and see if I can squeeze a bigger TV into my room if I dont like it. Thanks people

Yzzim, read over your post earlier, but thanks for that link. seems to be a good price 🙂

actually, one last question...if I use these RF moulators, Ill still be able to hook up my cable TV coax to it also right?

I had the same problem.......so I went and bought a new TV. Composite out baby.

Unless you meant "component", I'm going to point and laugh at your TV. Although I might just do that anyway.
