Best way to have win 2000 and Linux on same disk

I use Linux for about 80% of my work right now and 98 SE for the rest. I want to goto 200 however.
I heard that it doesn't like to play nice w/ other os'es. what's the best way to install it. I have been told to install Linux first then 2000 and that it's boot loader will detect the other OS and let me decide to keep it and create an entry to boot it. Is this true? Is there anything else I should know?

I think it's better the other way around - install Windows 2000 first, then Linux, and add Win2k to the linux bootloader. I think MS operating systems only recognize other MS systems.

I have a dual boot with linux and 2k right now, I use a boot disk to get to linux, but since you use linux more, you may want to try something else, it is just an idea. They get along fine (but are on different disks).

You can use either LILO or the Win2k boot loader (w/ bootpart) as your boot selector and won't have a problem. I've never really seen where 2000 "doesn't play nice". After many installs of every OS under the sun (well, almost ) I've yet to see one that really doesn't cooperate well w/ a dual boot setup.
