according to these directions u have to take the PA turnpike, but later on you end up on I-95, cant you just take I-95 from the start? and save on the toll? directions I wanna take the cheapest route preferably.

Depends on where you start from. If you are in the Northwest side of Philly, then the turnpike & I-95 works out better. If you are in the Southeast side, then I-95 the whole way would work better.

Turnpike IS I95 up until about central jersey.

oh btw, to get from Turnpike to I95 in south jersey, you have to get off turnpike at I 195, then take I 295 NORTH which then TURNS into I 95 South.

sux huh.

im in northeast philly, and can easily get to both, but what about all the other tolls? whats the best way to get up there.

i just read your directions on yahoo again,

here is the cheapest route.

go I 95 from Philly towards NJ. You will cross over into NJ and it will still be I 95, about 5 miles after crossing over into NJ I 95 N will become I 295 South.

at this point, here is the cheapest route.

from I 95 N just as it turns to I 295 south, you will see an exit from Route 1, take Route 1 north.

this will take you RIGHT past princeton and some other stuff, go about 16 miles NORTH on route 1 and you will see a Route 18 exit. take route 18 SOUTH and just as you past your first light you will get on NJ Turnpike.

from there follow the rest of your directions towards NY.
