As far as I know plenty of sleep and liquids still the best thing to get rid of it quickly. All the over the counter stuff just masks the symptoms and helps you endure it till your body gets rid of it.

Get plenty of vitamin C too, that will help you to get well, and stay well once you are better.

Feel better!!! :)

one of my teachers is nuts and goes running and does heavy exercise as soon as he gets any symptoms, he says that by raising his body temp at the onset of getting sick will the virus or bacteria or whatever off earlier, i dunno, i'm no doctor

Good tip, to "cure" a sore throat..

Gargle on some h2o2 (hydrogen peroxide) (until you can't take it anymore.. try for 45-60sec) then spit it out) give it a little while to bubble and sizzle :) Clear out your mouth with water after awhile and relax.. should take care of it..

I hear warm/hot salt water also helps but the peroxide is better..

A cold is a viral infection, as far as I know nothing will "cure" one by Monday. Some things will make you feel better ie. Chicken soup but they will not make all the symptoms go away.

Try a nasal spray decongestant if you have to give a presentation. I don't recommend them for daily use but for a special occasion then it is alright. Try it out the day before to see if it works for you and if you have any reactions to them.

A salt water gargle will help your throat. About two teaspoons of salt to a cup of warm water.

In my experance (seriously), lots of honey roasted peanuts and Sprite can make you feel much better. Sounds weird but it works for me.

I always use "Green Death" otherwise known as NyQuil. It helps until the body gets rid of it..

If you're sure its a cold, take some Zinc (Coldeeze works well). This should reduce some of the symptoms and reduce the length of recovery.

Rest, rest, rest.

Things like Tylenol work well but may make you drowsy. Only thing you really can do is rest and maybe take some meds so you don't feel that lousy. Should clear up in a day or two.

I always go with chicken soup.
Side note: You know you can buy it prepacked in packs of 8? That's what I get when I go to the store so when I get a cold, that is all I eat for a day. I guess too much of a good thing isn't good either, but heh, if Mom gave it to me, it's good enuf...;)
