Got rid of garbage, no food/drink sitting around. Tried flypaper from the hardware store and a fly trap with sticky sides. Nothing's working so far. Also tried using a flyswatter - I lack the coordination to actually hit the flies. But it does get rid of some of the frustration to swat away randomly.

Suggestions? Regular house flies, not fruit flies - we've done a good job getting rid of the fruit flies with vinegar.

I wouldn't mind the flies so much but I can't stand the buzzing noises when I'm trying to sleep.

Moved from P&N due to protests of abetting genocide from Insect-Americans. I thought of moving this to Highly Technical, but, pfffft, what do they know?

Bury the bodies instead of leaving them out?

Where's the news or politics?

Time. Once you get rid of the breeding grounds, you can slowly kill them off, and they'll be all gone. Oh yea, and shut the fuckin' door. You live in a barn or somethin'?! :^D

Get a cat.

Though best defense is not letting them in. The occasional one might go in when you are leaving the house but if you have swarms of them you have a hole in your screens or something and they must be getting through. Check your AC if you have a window or portable unit. I know I get the occasional bug that comes in through mine.

Well if this was P&N I would have posited that the flies were in fact socialists looking for a handout.

The flies are probably breeding on the rotting corpse you have in between your matresses.
