Get laid. My dad always told me to get laid and they'd go away and although they haven't gone away completely, it's not really a problem anymore.

Also, I second the clean sheets and pillowcases. That makes a huge difference.

Perhaps because at the age you get laid acne doesn't occur as often? :)

stop drinking 12 pops a day.
Diet has little to do with the occurence of acne vulgaris.

I third the clean pillow case and sheets. wash twice a week, especially if you don't shower before bed.
wash face three times a day. use benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid formulations after washing.
exercise and drink lots of liquids to recycle fluids. eat anything you want, but you will have a stronger immune system with healthy foods. immune system and feeling healthy are correlative and help combat the acne bugs. last but not least. don't ever touch your face with your hands outside of washing it.

Dont use the sissy soap..
Use something like Ivory or that medicated liquid soap. ( the presciption stuff )

By sissy soap I mainly mean Nozima. Remember.. acne is cause by OILY skin.. you need not worry about drying out your face.
Use a washcloth or one of those plastic scrub thingys and scrub the hell outta your face
3 times a day.

I had it bad when I was young.. if I did as described above I had no more problems.

As a doctor once told me.. its okay to squeeze a Zit.. but ONLY if its RIPE... ya know.. big white head thats about to bust anyway.
If you are scrubbing proper you wont need to worry about squeezing much anyway.

If you work at McDonalds the Zit juice makes a good additive to the secret sauce..

Almost forgot... if you are lucky enough to have a health club membership, visiting the steam room would probably help a lot. Cant say for sure because I was 35 before
I got into my first steam room.... but it sure sounds logical.

Accutane
Proactiv

Or something else prescribed by a dermatologist.

With Proactiv, you can expect it to worsen a bit in the 1st week or two but after two months of use as directed it works great. And, you can get just the revitalizing toner and repairing lotion off of eBay (saves the trouble of paying for stuff you don't need/use). Just don't bid on the bottles that are expired. ;)

My friend used to put wet towels as hot as he could stand on his face to open up the pores, then scrub with a rough facecloth and some medicated soap.
When he was done, he'd rinse with cold water to close the pores up again.

Warning: The above post is full of potentially erroneous information. Use at your own caution.

Scrubbing the hell out of your face is wrong! The added agitation will irritate your skin and cause more sebum to be produced, hence more oily skin. Though, one benefit to this, scrubbing off the dead skin cells might help reduce the occurance of blackheads.

Washing your face three times a day can cause a similar result to scrubbing. If you have abnormally oily skin, washing too many times a day will, again, cause your face to overproduce sebum. The more you wash, the faster your face will produce oil. Most people can get away with washing three times a day if they use a mild oil-free soap.

Squeezing your zits when it just turns "ripe" can be dangerous. Squeezing too early can cause scars for some people. On the flip side, squeezing too late or not at all can also cause scars, as your skin will start to improperly heal around the dry puss.

Its difficult to give advice on acne, as results vary so much from person to person. If your acne is really bad, go to a dermatologist for a perscription. He/she will likely give you a cocktail of antibiotics to prevent cystic acne and topical ointment to prevent whiteheads and blackheads. It's a pain in the ass, but it works.

all it does is severely dry out your face w/ synthetic vitamin A so that it's not as oily. however it leaves you flaky and dry every-frickin-where.
i was on the stuff for about a year and a half in high school b/c i had horrible acne that would not go away. acutane was the only thing that helped and now i'm 21 w/ little to no acne. however i do have chronic chapped lips b/c of the stuff. like someone else said, if it's really bad then see a dermatologist and the MOST they can do is put you on acutane.

my boss told me that his doctor (40 years ago, mind you) told him to wash his face with acetone.
