Best way to get my DVD's onto my Smartphone?

You have to rip to divx or wmp files. For wmp MS offers a free tool on their website. You just need a good decrypter to "Decrypt" the DVD.

Ok ive got my Finding Nemo off the DVD using DVD Decrypter, i threw it into DVD2AVI to seperate the audio track..... (which its still working on)

Then i guess i throw it into TMPGEnc, use the template for my smartphone, then take the .mpg and use a convertor to change the .mpg to a .wmv 🙂

You guys seriously watch video on those tiny little screens?

Its really not that bad at all. Using WMP 10, i can go widescreen when it landscapes the image and it actually looks pretty damn good.

I have yet to do it for my Treo but I really should...

Are we talking PocketPC or Palm OS ? If it's the latter, this article should still apply. Best of all:
Compression Quality: Brilliant! A 4.7GB DVD will be reduced down to between 80MB and 120MB depending on the length of the movie and all in avi format

You can try this. It's free and I use it on my PocketPC (on the rare occasions that I ever use my PocketPC). They also provide a guide on how to convert DVDs, VCDs, etc to mpeg. I use TMPGEnc. The files usually end up larger than 80-120mb for me though (at least the way I have the settings).

EDIT: Obviously, this is not mpeg4/divx though.

I got matrix reloaded as well as a few southpark episodes on my phone 🙂 Very cool.

I use this to watch my stuff.

im having problems using it though.. need help.. im trying to convert the video so as to make it smaller in size but it tells me " Please make sure that you have enough space on target disk drive and the file is not locked"... my cell phone is not connected ( although it has 120 mb of free space ) ..... i have 50 gig of free space on my laptop so im pretty sure theres enough space on my laptop..

Any help is appreciated... thanks

EDIT: ok turns out i got it to work using XVID codec as opposed to MPEG4 Version 3 codec which i was previously trying to use ... however if anyone can still figure out how to convert using mpeg4 version 3 codec please do advise as it'd make things simpler...

Now the other problem is that i installed smartmovie on smartphone but i cant find it on my smartphone which i guess means that it didnt install properly.. i have a MS imate smartphone 1 ( smartphone 2003 os ) ...any idea why it didnt install??

thanks
