Water blade looked nice at store but was concerned that any piece of dirt would just be dragged across, even though car is supposed to be clean.

I have a bottle of quick detailer and may use it more often, doesn't take long to put it on after anyway. Washing, then drying with towel, then detailing it's quite an adventure just to clean a car.:whiste:
rarely after i wash my car, would would drive straight towards the freeway.

i would never care how my car looked as long as it got me to point a to b.
So you do wash it, even if rare, but would never care how your car looked? Your post sucks.

Wow, it's silly how much of a surprisingly huge difference it makes to rinse it with a thick, non-nozzled low pressure beam of water. I've found doing that I hardly have to dry anything at all, but I am finishing up now with a microtowel (which is leaving some "lint" around still, maybe needs to be washed itself a couple more times). If I use the shower mode on my hose attachment and let dry it's horrendous by any definition, but letting it sheet off makes all the difference.

i think I have the absorber kicking around, I'll give it another shot. The real shortcoming initially was me trying to do this without water sheeting off, it's impossible. If it sheets off first there really isn't much left so the absorber would be great.

Wash it in the shade during the coolest part of the day and dry with a chamois or microfiber towel. Wring it out frequently to keep it absorbent.
