Best way to do this?

Well I found a Dreamcast shell in my closet and want to put a small low cost PC in it. It seems that it is able to fit a Mini ITX motherboard inside it.

The problem is I would prefer to have a CD rom drive within the case as well. I have an old laptop CD drive I can try to mod as I have no use for it. Is there any way to take the laptop CD Rom Drive apart and make it a top loader instead of a disc ejector drive?

Also, what would be the best way to power a motherboard in such a small case? The case is pretty small so I am assuming I will have to use an external power source.

Ya, another problem is looking for the right Mini ITX setup. I am thinking of ordering the atom motherboard and CPU from new egg, but I dont see myself being able to use that amout of power in such a small case.

I dont care what anyone says, but the dreamcast case is sexy!

i dont see the point in getting a m-itx board, cutting and cramming it into a dreamcast case.... and then using a hugeass psu on the outside.. lol

The Atom isn't that powerful. Oh wait, you were comparing it to the VIA C3 and C7 setups?

As for optical drive, take that puppy apart and find out. If you can't make it work, then keep the lid on the Dreamcast and put in a slot loader.

Well I went with a celeron 220 board as I got it really cheap. I plan on picking up one of the Picos early next week but will probably try and rig something up for the time being. I just plan to measure everything out and get an idea what goes where this weekend.
