Best way to dispose of an old computer carcass?

I set all my old computer stuff out on the curb and it's always gone before the trash pick up happens.

Heck, around here just set it out by the curb day before trash pickup, someone will grab it just for the steel weight, I set an old washer out one time, it was gone in 15 minutes..

Junk electronics, gone.
Microwave from the 70's, gone.
HD-DVD that I hated, gone.
Old orange Home Depot bucket w/ sludge at the bottom, gone.
Metal trim, gone.
Broken digital camera, gone.
Old ladders from original house owner (1925), gone.
