get some thin metal rod and heat it up over the stove, then poke it through the belt

I've used a small phillips screwdriver to punch extra holes in watch bands, might work for a belt.

What's an awl?

awl : sharp-pointed tool: a tool consisting of a handle and a slim metal shaft with a sharp point, used for punching small holes in leather or wood

nail and hammer doesn't leave a very nice clean hole. i second the power drill. choose a bit that's about the same size as the other hole. you won't even notice the difference :)

Thanks! :)

Freeze it in liquid nitrogen and drill it through with titanium drill bit. :D

Go to your local shoe shine/repair place, they should have the right tool for it. I went to one, and they did it for free.

<<Hrmm.. so what yields the best clean hole? >>

like i said, use a power drill. but when you drill the hole, be sure to push the drill in and out a couple of times to make it clean. actually use a bit that is a little smaller than your existing belt holes. this is because once you push and pull the drill in and out of the hole to make it clean, it'll end up making the hole a bit bigger than the bit.
