Best way to clean leather car interior?

NTB

Diamond Member
Gettting a "new to me" car next week - it runs and rides well, and is low-mileage (~56k on a '95) but needs a thorough cleanining inside. The car has a leather interior, so I was wondering what the best way to go about this would be. Any particular reccomendations on what I could use?

PS: what's with all the "could not connect" errors I keep getting today?

Nate

6 parts water, one part woolite works well as a cleaner (or buy zaino or lexol cleaner)

then condition with zaino or lexol

Wilson's leather conditioner available at Wilson's leather stores or if you can find a good shoe repair shop, pick up some "Apple" leather conditioner.

use maguires leather cleaner. or mothers. whatever u do, dont use the turtle wax one. messed up part of my back seats 🙁

I was lazy, so I bought meguirs leather wipes recently. I do need to do a real full job on the car, butt he wipes are a lot quicker 🙂

I almost picked those up the other day, but went with the Armor All leather wipes instead. Did a decent job, actually got some crap off my seats that I had been having trouble getting off.

Pep Boys carries Lexol products, if you have them around you.

Be sure to do the conditioning step on a very hot day, so that the leather absorbs the conditioner better. Let it soak in for a long time, like 4-6 hours. And don't be afraid of putting too much conditioner on.
