Best way to benchmark memory?

I've always used sisoft sandra's memory bandwith benchmark. People usually think they have good memory speeds when their scores get over 7000. Latency and bandwidth make big differences in this benchmark.

(I get 7000 with dual-channel, 280mhz, cas3 tcc5 ram)

7000 is very good. An average setup with generic pc3200 ram, normal latencies, generally gets about 3000.
