best way to backup "D II saved Characcter" to cd?

I want to redormat my HDD and reinstall everything but would like to backup my saved game to a cd. How should I set it up for easy reinstall?

Just remember to uncheck "READ ONLY" on the file properties of your saved games after you copy them back off your backup cd to your hard drive!

(Yup, did learn this the hard way with a friend, reinstalled, played a few hours, saved and exited. Came back into the game to find his guy the exact same, as if he hadn't just played. Woops!)

Diablo II? Hell, the save games are so small you could avoid most of the hassle and just save the entire directory to a floppy. Even with multiple characters it'll still probably fit. And if not, EASILY fit zipped up. E-Mail it to yourself if you really want to be safe :)
