Myself the only thing swiftech makes that i like is their air coolers.
I'm very picky about putting aluminum in my cooling loop reguardless of it being anodized.
for now im sueing an aluminum top untill my 1/4in copper sheet arrives so i can fab my copper tops :)

if you are going to look at a setup you can go with something like below.

D-Tek TC-4 rev2 great block beat my old maze3 out by a few degrees and now ive modded it its even better.

or if you want to spend a few more bucks and dont plan on useing a peltier go with a D-tek whitewater. unless you want the best get a cascade from cathar....but i dont think those will work with pelts either...

the maze3 STILL performs damn well i wouldnt get a maze4 personally since i dont like how it is designed.

get a D-tek procore and shroud unless you know how to use a tortch and solder..if you do get your own heatercore from autozone get the largest you can for yoru case (remember bigger is better) and solder barbs to the tanks and your off after a thorough cleansing.

for a pump most swear by eheim i am one of those they have proven to be super reliable and i havent seen one fail yet...
or you can go with a hydor...which some say is good and others dont care.
other than those two i hear danner mags are great but the front intake has a tendancy to leak......and the cream of the crop more or less is iwaki itll cost you a kidney but the head pressure ont he thing and its reliability are second to none.

tubing go with tygon or clearflex pretty much the same stuff just tygon costs more.....myself id rather have tygon

a res is up to you you dont need one but they make life very very simple when filling and bleeding your loop. if you go with a res then go with a danger den cylendrical res or a waterplant from criticool the innovatek tank-o-matic is very nice and very sweet once it is converted to 1/2in fittings........i ran into one problem..that problem was their acrylic cracked like crazy and i cant fix it........so basiclynow ive got a 80 dollar paper weight...unless i get fully fix it.

all of that and you are done and will have a setup that can handle pretty much anything you toss at it !

oh and last but not least im a real stickler for stuff being secure with that those plastic hose clamps most sites sell i dont buy ANY of them. i go to autozone and spend 4 bucks and get 8 stainless steel worm clamps (hose clamps) and bolt them down nice and tight.......plastic dry rots and will break...steel doesnt

www.dangerden.com
www.dtekcustoms.com
www.cooltechnica.com

id go with these guys for the main guts of any setup they are great

for other stuff
www.frozencpu.com
www.sharkacorp.com (i think)

are great as well i went thru frozen cpu for my innovatek tank-o-matic which i converted to 1/2in worked great however the thing ended up cracking itself to death so ill say this......i wont buy another one ever again due to the cracking problem.

you can get software thatll shut your PC down at a certain temp. but the newer BIOS on newer mobos can also do it as well.
overclockershideout used to sell a dual pump/res setup but if you got the room yes you could run two pumps but if you buy a good pump fromt he start you shouldnt have to worry about it screwing up.
on a side note ive actually gone thru an entire day without turning my pump on........i forget about it ran all day and when i got home from work i went to play some CS but the game would crash out due to the temp so in my case i know i can go about 12 hours with the pump off LOL
