Best virus scan software

I need to install a new viruscan program. I've been using Norton but I had to reinstall and now for some reason it doesn't work correctly so I thought I would just try something else. What other than Norton does the best job?

What's wrong with Norton? Maybe you can fix it instead of finding a new one.

There's been a few threads about AV software already.... but if you want free ones, try AVG or Avast Home Edition. They're both decent but not the best.

When using Norton now, the constant monitoring isn't working nor the e-mail scanning. I get a message saying to reinstall, but I have the same problems anyway.

in earlier years, i used mcafee (anyone rememebr thier little ftp user/pass 😉)

for the past few years i've used norton

If you`re looking for pay ones then PC-Cillin 2003 is a pretty good Virus scanner program comes with a firewall as well.

Maybe you should edit that last part out. The mods don't take kindly to promoting warez.

it's no more kazaa's fault than it is sony's fault for using thier vcr... haha sorry 🙂
yeah, whenever i suggest stuff, i never mention kazaa but kinda just assume those who are gonna use it, are gonna use it. and those who are gonna buy it are gonna buy it. 'nuf said
