I have a 32mb ATI Radeon AIW DDR that I have been using for quite some time now but havent made use of its recording features in a long time. What would be the best software to use to capture TV programs? Also, what resolution and format is most popular for television recording.

Thanks

I personally use power vcr. I t works extremely well and has a nice variety of quality settings. Best of all it is pretty stable unlike most of ATI's tuner software. It works perfectly with my tv wonder pci tuner. kinda pricey to buy though.

If you are just going to use it to capture and view on that computer then I would just use the included capture utility with the Multimedia Center software as Duvie suggests. If you are going to use it to create MPEG or other formats that you will use on different computers then I would look to some other software. ATI includes the Pinnacle 8 software with the AIW 9700 and from the little I have used it thus far it has been pretty easy to use. I thought it was cleaner than ULead or Adobe Premiere from a novice video editor point of view. Although if you can get your hands on Premiere it is definitely the most powerful of any package I have used.

Good Luck!

I have a leadtek a180 vivo card and am having issues recording on vhs tapes. while I try to record all the tapes have a white bar that goes through the entire screen. Is this the program and macrovision? Can I download a different program that won't do this, a patch? Thanks.
