Thanks. How do you know Infuse 4 comes out in a couple of weeks ?
VLC.
and i have never seen a file format not supported by VLC.
irate poster said:The latest update to VLC ruined the app and sent it from 5 stars to none. Prior to this update it played all my mkv's and other video files just fine. Now it says AC3 audio not supported.
developer of vlc for iOS said:We had to remove it due to a legal threat from Dolby Laboratories asking us $8,000,000 per year for it.
Best regards,
Feli

fine, so it doesn't. now, i would like you (and the OP) to do a per-format file search on your PCs and tell me how many said files you have.
had to google it, ac3 is a dolby format. generally used in the industry to support professional film. pardon my ignorance but i don't see how this feature would be missed.
now i don't know Infuse but i support VLC out of habit since they revolutionized the world back-when WMP and their pals all tried to infect the world with DRM and paid codecs, and i still owe them a debt of gratitude.
Does VLC have hardware decoding now? That's why I switched to Infuse, much better battery life.
Infuse 4 for AppleTV is already out, and the iPad / iPhone version is supposed to be out before the end of December 2015.
