Hahahaha I found the old Texas Instruments system. I didn't think I still had it
On the top it says "Texas Instruments Computer 99/4A". Good guess, Killbat.
This little fvcker was the coolest thing you could ever envision a console to be. It has a built in keyboard and you could make your own programs and games on it! I remember when I was 6, my uncle was over at my house and he was trying to make a little program. Of course I didn't know what he was doing other than what he told me: "I'm making a game, Mendo."
Hard for me to judge. The SNES is the only console I have ever owned. I have played a little bit on Genesis and Jaguar and did not like them very much. The SNES Squaresoft RPGs ruled. I still play one at least per month on my 26" telly, even though I now have a PC.
well, the nes started it all, snes was fun, i hated the genesis, and i had some bad-A times playing 4 player on n64..yet the dc has free games but over all my pick goes to the n64
and i used to have an aquarius it had games like dungeons and dragons, all black and white and funky blocked, hah bet no one heard of that!! it had 2 controllers, a keyboard, tape drive, printer!!! it was sooooooo crappy
SNES for sure. On top of a great system for the price and technology available, it came about in the heyday of consoles, what with everybody trading cartridges and not thinking twice about renting games for the video store to try out.
Close second for me is the Atari 2600, though it was a pain to keep working as well as play for long amounts of time. Played one heck of a lot of Joust back then.
I love the SNES, Love NES...
but which system has lasted for nearly 2 decades,
outlasted NES, SNES, SEGA, PLAYSTATION,, N64, and everythign else and is STILL going strong???
Maybe since there's not much you can do to enhance a truly portable system. What ya gonna do, add full screen anti aliasing and upgrade the resolution to 640x480?
Why does everyone think SNES was so great? I consider inovation for the day, and game writing to be main factors. SNES was just a glorified NES. I'm a playstation man but I still bust out the NES for some Tecmo Bowl or Contra. That's why the alltime list is...
1. NES
2. Playstation (Very close)
3-19. All other systems
20. N64
Yeah that's right! If you like N64 then join Ms. Lippy's kindergarten class and go play Yoshi Allstar Banana Challange or whatever mindless toddler cartoon game they're realeasing next.
SNES is a glorified NES? Have you actually played SNES? Graphics are much better (8 bit compared to 16 bit, which at the time was a major improvement), games are much more fun and are generally longer/more complex (Ever played a RPG that takes at least 50 hours with your NES?). Improved sound/music, improved controller, more realistic games.
