Surprising that it took many posts before someone mentioned Ulead. Video Studio 8 is more stable and quite faster than Pinnacle studio 9.

I've heard good things about Ulead. I have to give it a try. How much faster is it than Pinnacle? Are there any comparisons around to look at?

I downloaded the Ulead demo and ran some benches. Ulead is 2x as fast encoding as Pinnacle.

actually yes it can output an AVI.
