Best video creating software

At school, we have two macs, used primarily for video-editing and they use finalcut pro. I was wondering if there is a program equivalent to that for windows. Someone told me they made one for windows, but ive never seen it. I was wondering what program would work best for video editing that is similary to that program. Thanks
 
The only program for Windows I've used is Adobe Premiere. It's got quite a bit of features though IMO it's pretty easy to do simple things like filters, fast/slow motion, rearranging sequences, etc.
 
thanks for the info, i was actually thinking in the same line of that. I hear it's pretty expensive though too.
