Best video card with TV-OUT ?

Hello,

I'm looking for a new video card for my HTPC ... preferably under $150 ... with good TV-OUT 🙂

thx 🙂

Can't beat the Radeon 8500 with a stick at under $150. You get ATi's best gaming card and IMHO the best TV-Out functionality and quality that I have tried yet.

Second monitor hardware overlays and crystal clear colors on tv-out.

🙂 The Radeons are still your best bet, good 3D, image quality and TVout support.

😀 Don't forget the Radeon8500LE, very nearly as fast as the full blown Radeon8500 but generally a lot cheaper.

🙁 Beware, the non-ATI Radeons use cheaper RAM and are under-clocked, avoid unless you get a real bargain.

😉 As you say, most cards only come with TVout. The AllInWonder Radeons are prob a bit expensive and overkill. The only other cards that can compete 3D are the nVidia GeForce cards. The GF2 & GF3 cards have comparatively poor TVout, and I don't think the GF4 cards are much better. Matrox cards may be worth considering, if 3D isn't important, otherwise you could wait for the new Matrox Parhelia 512.
