In case you haven't noticed I think you should go for a lesser vid card (if anything) and try to save some money. You're what, like 25 years old by now, time to grow up and look to the future, not into self-gratification and the present.

He'll be 23 and I turned 24 earlier this month, and thanks for the kind/wise words Staley. I figure this will be my last big purchase for a long, long time - and the money spent on the video card will take the place of those that would have been spent on Lakers tix. Right now it looks like I'll be looking for a good deal on the 6800GT video card, which hopefully can be found for $300-350 or so. Next step, Roth IRA.
Sorry my first post was a little harsh (i just reread it). I guess I got super pumped I didn't mean to sound like an arrogant pirate. Just wanted to point out that in my infinite wisdom I would recommend saving a little for the future if you don't have much saved up now. You never know what can happen (bills, job status, etc.). And you don't want to end up with nothing to fall back on.
I love you,
A kind hippo
