Best video card Heatsink?

Hey guys i plan on getting the 6800gt card and would like to know how much performance i will be able to gain from a heatsink and whether it's worth the money.

Also, can you please recommend some good heatsinks?

Thanks a lot

Have you ever thought of incorporating all your new PC worries into one thread? You have 3 right now, if not more.

Back on topic, it's not so much the preformance boost, but the noise reduction. To my understanding, most retail HS/F on video cards are noisy. In my upcoming PC build, I will be purchasing a Zalman VF-700 Copper heatsink/fan. I havent used it before, but I've heard good things.

However, take my advice with a grain of salt as I have never used the product before.

Jeez relax buddy i just like putting the threads in the proper section if i have a cooling question i'll put it in the cooling section if i have a cpu section i'll put it in cpu

Ok fine, you have one thread in each forum. Not 3. And its not like its heavily enforced- you could put a thread in general hardware with all your concerns and nobody would care.

I have the Zalman VF-700Cu on my 6800GT and it's great. You won't gain any performance, but you will notice the lack of noise coming from the video card's fan(s). Please don't post the same question in multiple forums, all it does is clutter the place up.

i would say the NV silencer is probably the best HSF, as it exhausts the hot air out of the back of the case, instead or circulating it around in the case, and it is very silent in operation

hey guys can i replase the current stock cooler of my 6800 ultra?can i put a water cooler instead of stock cooler?my card cant be oced well

I really like the Zalman as well. When I replaced the stock cooler on my 6600GT, my overclock went from 540/1090 to 565/1145, and temps also dropped close to 20C (it used to hit close to 80C!). Also, I like that it's universal, so if I end up upgrading my card, I'll still have a cooler to use.
