I hope I don't affend anyone by posting a question like this. :) I am going to be building a few budget machines very soon and the only thing I am fairly undecided about is the graphics card. As I am on a Budget the MAX I can spend is $60. PLease. Don't laugh. My requirements are good 2D and 3D with opengl support (at least as good as it can be). Thank you all for your input.

Matt :D:eek::eek:

If you put a little more money in, you can get a Radeon 32mb LE which has great performance.

What CPU are you going to have?, the Hercules 3D Prophet 4000XT (Kyro 1) is available for $55 with free delivery from newegg.com. It has great 2d quality, very fast 3D (faster then the MX at high res, 32bit and especially with FSAA) and is a all round good quality card, it doesn't like very low speed processors though, as long as its a Duron or a decently clocked Celeron 2 it'll be great for you.

I'll be using at the very least a 600 Duron and possibly as high as a AThlon 1.0Ghz.

Then the Herc 4000XT will be great for you.

I agree with teasy! For 54 bucks the Kyro 4000xt is the best choice :)
try newegg, it's 4 bucks for shipping there.

I'm replacing it with an AIW Radeon. I need the DVI for my new LCD and I was looking into some vid cap ability too. The AIW fits my needs perfectly.

I was thinking about getting the AIW but I just couldn't fork out that much. I might get the the tuner on it's own later.
BTW, would running tv-out on a 50" cable make the picture look like a monkey's behind? My tv is in a nother room.

I have no idea. I'm sure someone would know the specs for s-video or composite video.
