Best video card for MS Flight Simulator

hi, i needed some advice on which video card i should purchase for playing MS Flight Simulator. I currently have a GForceMX2 and I'm looking to upgrade it.

I only play Flight-Sims and Tactical Shooters as well. I just bought a Gainward GeForce 3 Ti200 from NewEgg.com and I have it overclocked to just over Ti500 speeds. That is most definitely what I recommend for the price... I paid $156.00 + shipping for mine.

Radeon 8500 Retail, its less than 200.00 now and outperforms the Geforce 3 Ti cards. Plus my MS Combat Sim 2 looks great when playing it on mine. Even at 10x7x32 high quailty, excellant game.

I'd recommend a radeon 8500 OEM or even LE, or a GF3 Ti 200, depends what you want. I'd say the Radeon OEM.

Microsofts Flight Sim 2002 is very CPU dependant, so a New graphics card will only go half way to improve frame rates. Flight sim has the lowest frame rate of any game I own and I'm running it on a P4 1.7GhzCPU with a G-force3Ti200 You need a hell of a machine to get over 30fps with all detail maxed out.

I recommend any card that gives you FSAA. The GF3 Ti Series or the Radeons will be your best pick. I have Flight Simulator 2002 running on a similar system to yours with the exception that I have the original GF3 and it runs fairly smooth. I usually have it set at 1028X768 with 4XAA and 16-tap anisotropic level and it looks sweet!

GeForce 4 TI series. Flight sims need FSAA, and GeForce 4 is very fast at it.

To be honest I'd rather a processor upgrade as Flight Simulator is almost entirely processor limited. If it must be a video card though, I'd go for an OEM or Retail R8500, slightly slower then the GF3 Ti500 but have superior FSAA and Flight Simulator can DEFINITELY benefit dramatically from FSAA.

Baller looks like a perfect candidate for a GF4MX 440. The GF4MX has a new, efficient fsaa which is going to be far more useful to him than pixel shaders for "the future".
