hi all

i am a photographer/videographer, and i occasionally play games on my system

i hae a i7 2600k w/16gb ram and currently a msi 560 gtx twin frozr ii oc card

this card SUCKS. it keeps giving me errors - you can google all the people using the same card and getting errors on bf3 and lol!

well i want to upgrade - any suggestions?

budget under $400

thx

I dont know, but the photo/video editing aspect of it is completely irrelevant to note. Even a $10 video card would have no problems handling any photo or video editing, so it all comes down to what games you want to play, resolutions you play at and quality settings you want, then of course how much you want to spend.

Well, for that budget, you'd have to either go for a 570 or a 6970, unless you're open to SLI/Crossfire, which you don't really specify.

I use a 570 flawlessly for BF3. Couldn't tell you about photoediting.

Don't spend anything. Fix your problems with the 560 (which is a great card).

What drivers do you have installed? (Version and dates, please)

I don't have any experience with that card, but if it is a great card then yeah you should definitely see about updating the drivers and such to see if you can run BF3 properly before you go running off to buy a $400 card for no good reason.

Ya listen to them. Your crazy if because of errors you think the card is junk. Its not junk , as op said, you can do video editing and photo editing with a 100 dollar card. Having a fast GPU will help as you are not using Sandys CPU. The 560 Ti if overclocked properly, is the best bang for your buck period. Why you wanna throw that away and waiste 380 on a 570 that will see no difference at all with your video and photo stuff nor games. Its already fast. Also it has much head room to OC

This is what happens when you buy nVidia cards from cheap korean makers. Anyhow lets help you fix your BSOD or crash issue. Perhaps your fan is drunk or something. gl

Well he does light gaming he doesnt need a 570. Hell get 60fps with a 560 .

Photo editing will use GPU photoshop,, and premiere will use GPU , its fast GPU especially when overclocked... let us know,, gl

What CPU does he have.. You got a Sandy ? If not then a 570 is over kill ....

Why should he spend 140 dollars more for a 570 ? Hes not going to see a difference,, Ill go head to head with a 570 pound for pound.. look at my memory OC,, gotta love EVGA.
