As soon as I can get my hands on one of the new 760 chipset DDR mobos, I'm going to build myself a new computer. Here's my question. What's a good, inexpensive card for 2D work (Photoshop, 2D AutoCAD, internet surfing - NO GAMING) with built in DVD for Win2k? I've been looking at the ATI XPERT 2000 32MB card for about $70. Would this be a good choice? Would this be enough card for my uses? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Good 2d automatically takes away most Nvidia cards, and DVD takes away the Voodoo's. You could just get a Matrox G200 and a decoder card, that would ensure cheap and good DVD and 2d and no gaming. But I would say a Voodoo 3 2000 and a decoder card for about 80 bucks total.

the xpert2000 would be pretty good, the dvd decoding in the rage128vr (which is what that has) is the same as a radeon or rage128 pro. So that is probably a good idea, unless you can get an xpert128 (rage128) for $50-60 sometimes. gf2 doesnt have quiet the dvd playback and the 2d isn't very good. the savage 4 series of cards also had really good dvd, you might want to get one of those for $50-60 also.
