Mozilla is a very respectable browser, but it still has some compatibility issues (people who code sites just for IE).

I would say what version of IE you install depends on the system you are installing it on. If it's an old box, I would do 5.0 maybe 5.5. Anything new, I would go with 6.0. Typically, bigger and more abundant security holes parallel the age of the release...

4.0 is the worst. I use mozilla, and the few times a month a page doesnt work, IE6

Security on IE sucks. Example - SSL in all versions of IE is still broken and not so secure after all, I think its been about a week since the flaw was discovered. The flaw was also discovered in the Linux browser Konqueror, and was fixed in 90 minutes. Mozilla did not have the flaw.

If you're using an older machine I'd recomend IE 5.01sp2. If you've got a more powerful machine try Mozilla 1.0, it really is quite a bit better than IE 6.
