I am up for my New Every Two phone with Verizon.
What is the best phone these days? I don't need anything too fancy.
I might even go as far as the LG Dare if they are cool.

I don't text message, in fact I disabled it because I am cheap.

Any recommendations, or comments about what you like or don't like about certain phones you've had experience with?

Thanks

basically you want a cheap phone that isnt fancy and doesnt need to be text capable? then just get any of the free after rebate phones... nothing is cheaper than free.

the dare requires a vcast data plan, afaik. i've asked verizon reps if i could purchase without a plan and they've all shot me down, but some members claim that their dare doesnt have a vcast package.

the env2 is pretty cool, but its built around text messaging so u probably wont want that :p

For best phone, I probably mean less than $100, and good battery life and reception.
I am using an older Razor since my KRazor was ripped off almost 2 years ago, I had to resort to an older phone instead of paying full price for another. I think the Razor has so-so reception.

well, the dare feels like a piss poor attempt at being an iphone. wait, it IS a piss poor attempt at being an iphone. don't get it IMO, not worth it. I've been happy w/ my enV2, sans the fact it's too easy to unlock in my pocket. But given you don't text, it might not be your cup of tea, but it has good battery life and reception.

Most of the free phones after rebates/new every two feel like utter crap. The LG 8350 (if they still have it) is pretty good too, but the build quality on it feels like a toy. My mom's hinge broke, and I had to ebay for another one. Other than the build quality, it's a good basic phone too.

I had the env2 for a bit and I loved it. The only reason I turned it in was to get a Voyager.

For free I would recommend the Nokia 6205, or the Dark Knight Edition, which actually looks a little nicer.
If you dont like that stupid batman logo I bet it would come off with a dab of acetone or alchohol.
