Best Verizon phone for Battery life and voice reception?

It's that time again when I need to get a new phone from Verizon. Fortunately my contract just expired so I can get a new phone, but other lines on the plan still have a contract so I must still stay with Verizon.

My old phone was a LG Env2, which at the time had the best battery life with a 21 day standby time and was among the top rated Verizon phones for reception.

In actuality, I was able to get 7-8 days out of it on one charge with a couple hours of total talk time. This was unfortunately reduced to 2-3 days max due to very poor reception at work (the only service with this issue) which rapidly drained the battery.

So I am looking for a very basic phone that I can count on to work well for calling and work for a very long time on one charge. If there is one that is less prone to draining the battery when there is no service I would like to know about it.

This phone on phonescoop seems to be the leader on battery life, which I can only hope, will surpass the life of my Env2, but I have not been able to find any good reviews of it.

Also, if you can suggest any good sites with reviews focusing on battery life and reception please point me to them.

Thanks.

Sprint has a couple of nice ones (the sanyo scp 3810 is quite good). I never did switch to verizon because I could never find a decent phone. Now that i'm considering smart phones it is sort of reverse. You either go with the Epic or Evo on sprint while verizon has many decent phones (driod x, fascinate, and 3 or 4 next month).

We had Sprint 2 years ago and we had lots of dropped calls, however it did work in many more places and if needed it could roam on other networks like Verizon, something my Verizon phones will never do, I think because of Verizon's nasty PRL.
Another option is US Cellular. I thought it uses the Verizon network as it has a PRL and seemed to work, and not work same as mine, but recently I found a USC phone that worked fine when a VZ phone did not.
I generally don't consider smartphones as they require an additional data plan and being "smart" eat battery life like candy. So if there is a smart phone without a data plan and decent battery life, at least once I disable all the fancy features like internet and Bluetooth.

Anyway, since I have some time left on couple contracts , (family plan) I cannot leave Verizon just yet and need at least one replacement phone.

I checked the VZ website and on the list of free phones, I found the LG Cosmos and the LG Accolade, which claim 579 and 679 hours of standby time, both being more than my Env2. Also both seem to lack EV-01 support which I though all phones would have now, anyway I could not care less about data.

As I said before, I have not seen smart phones with a battery life even close to this.

My last option is to get a cheap ebay phone until all the plans expire and then move all the lines at once. That gets a little more complicated as I probably would need 1 or more mart phones in the family.

Yea the smart phones eat batteries :( I was just noting that sprint seems ot have better non-smart phones and verizon has better smart phones - well that's my observation - i'm sure lots will disagree. I personally want a smart phone for when i travel (gps, email) hum... oh well..

Gee thats funny cuz I had an Env2 and it sure as hell didnt last 21 days.

I guess by your standards a low end Nokia will last 6 months.
Pretty much any phone will do that isnt Android based. Does Verizon even sell Nokias?
