Of course, you won't have the ability to run 64 bit windows when it comes out next month, but if that's not a big deal, then you should go with what you feel comfortable with.

Wow, thanks for that link. I am leaning towards the mobile now. What do you think? Only $80 shipped for 215X11 speeds. Would an A64 or Sempron S754 give more than a 10% improvemnet over that. Especially, since I am bottlenecked by a 9700 pro.

Just remember, that article shows the 2500 overclocked, but not the A64 3000+, so if you were to spend a bit more and if you get the right type of mobo, you could seriously exceed the benchmarks in that review.

It would cost me more than twice as much though, and it still wouldn't be that much faster. I am still open to ideas and appreciate the help. Any more suggestions? $150 is the tops I will spend. Just to clarify, what is faster a A64 2800 or XP-Mobile@3400. And by what margin?
