Im building a new "value" pc for me, so I was looking some video cards like Geforce TI4200 64mb or the ATI 9000 PRO. what are your comments?...Im looking a video card that has DX9 suppord (for half-life 2 and doom3) and also be in the range of 50 - 110 dollars...can somebody help me wich is the best value card in the market that has what I need?

thanks

The only card in that price range with dx9 support is the FX5200. It supports Dx9, but not very well at the high end. Save more $$$, its a few more months till the games come out, then see what the card prices are...

If you want a dx9 card, the only one under $110 is the geforce fx5200, which I do not recommend. That card will give you very poor performance in doom 3 and half life 2. Basically you have 2 options:

1. Get a dx8 card, such as a 128mb ti4200 for around $100. This card should run half life 2 and doom3, without the dx9 features though.
2. Pay closer to $160 for a radeon 9500pro or 9600pro. You could get the non-pro versions of those cards, but they offer significantly poorer performance.

Forget DX9 below $160 (9600 Pro). $110 will buy you a 128MB 4200-8x, the best in its price range.
