If you're willing to spend 250 usd then a 290 for intensive situations is nearly twice as fast as a 960.

Hey, the guy says he wants NVidia. Why keep trying to force a 290 on him?

Because it's twice as fast as a 960 with 4GB for the same money, and there's literally no reason to buy something that's half as fast just because of a brand name.

OP: just get a 290. Don't get a 960.

Twice as fast, really?

Yeah, very much so. Single GPU for both nVidia and AMD is basically indistinguishable. Where the drivers are meaningfully different today is when you use 2 or more cards.

If you do end up getting the 290, make sure to uninstall the nVidia driver first, then run driver sweeper to clean up the remains, then install AMD drivers.

It's also looking like Arkham Knight is an absolute train wreck on PC. This upgrade might not even help that much since the port is so sloppy. It'll be a massive upgrade generally speaking though

I know JUST enough about building my own PC to be dangerous so...

What is the difference in this one and the other one posted?

The blue vapor x is a 280x. A much smaller and slower chip than the 290 which is why its much cheaper

So the first one (blue VaporX) is the 280x, that is a different chip that is slower. You don't want that one.

The second one (yellow Tri-X) is the 290, that is the best 290 and cooler in my opinion, that is a very good deal.

Could the rest of my PC be bottle necking any where?

From what I have read the i5-2500k is still a good gaming processor...
