Best vacuum food sealer?

I'm growing a garden and have more veggies than I know what to do with. Thinking of vacuum sealing some of them for some long term storage in the freezer. I've been reading some reviews on the web but figured I would ask here as well.

I need a sealer for home use. In addition to sealing food for preservation I'd like to vacuum marinate meats etc... Any recommendations?

marinating meat that way is awesome. Make sure that before you vacuum seal your veggies for the freezer that you do it right. I don't believe that most simply get put into the freezer raw.

I often put my raw veggies in a standard freezer bag and straight into freezer and they taste fine 3+ years later. Were still eating hot peppers from 1998 (almost gone but I have about 2 meals worth left). My wife likes to parboil them first, but I can't really tell a quality difference. But most of the time, I just cook the veggies as I normally would (pizza sauce, spagetti sauce, pesto, etc) and freeze that for a nearly instant meal later.

Note: doing that in a freezer that routinely defrosts might lead to freezer burn after a year or so.
