Ive been planning on building a home theater PC for awhile now, and dont need anything fancy, was going to use an e-350 cpu/mobo with 2 gigs of ram and a small SSD to boot xbmc from and keep all the media on my external drives. This was going to cost me about 200 bucks +/- 40 depending on the case, etc. but when i was browsing craigslist the other day I saw a Dell XPS 210, the small form factor xps with 2 gigs ram and a core 2 duo for 100 bucks. With all of that I'm basically getting more free HDD space with the 300gb one it comes with.
I was considering buying this but I want an almost-always on system and I don't know how loud this would be and how hot it would get. My room is rather small and I live in arizona, my current gaming PC heats up my room like a furnace as it is, I don't want to add too much along with the fact it needs to be quiet so I can hear my media when I turn down the TV at night (roommate is a light sleeper).
So maybe this system wouldnt be for me, but I don't know. It also brings up the fact that I could probably find an unloved system out there and use it for cheaper, but I haven't looked at prebuilts in ages so I don't know what systems would be good for it and still cheap.
