White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane in The Game.

Right when Michael Douglas is about as confused as all hell, he comes home to his house and it's all trashed and painted up, that song is playing at it's peak. Perfect match for the song and the feeling in the movie at the time.

cant believe no one has said it yet!,

Pixies- Where is my Mind?

Ending of Fight Club, solo kicks in, and they watch the buildings blow up through the windows. Perfect scene.

You guys miss the point. Shocking I know. But still, I'd like to point out that the OP is asking for songs that were already popular and THEN appeared in a movie. Danger Zone and Don't You Forget About Me were made for the movies.

Blue Oyster Cult.

That mini-series had great use of a bunch of popular songs during the opening credits. I especially loved "Don't Dream It's Over" by Crowded House.

you cant knock the 'danger zone'! and the op even confirmed 'danger zone' and since the song rocks eight ways from sunday it gets a free pass regardless of the terms and conditions.

the harold lauder/fran goldsmith scene after he helped her bury her father. great scene and good song to use at that moment.

i now associate that song with 'fear and loathing in las vegas' where benocio del toro is in the bathtub and he wants johnny depp to throw the radio in when the song reaches its apex.

Not something that will be remembered in 10 years (or even months) but I just saw the remake of Hitcher, and I thought that the scene with Sean Bean chasing after the cops in the old TA with NIN's Closer playing was pretty intense. Excellent song for that sequence.

The way they used Rufus Wainwright's Hallelujah in the first Shrek movie was really something powerful.

The End (The Doors) - Apocalypse Now

Yes and yes!

Creep in Cyclo was very good. Truly appreciating the clip requires context though. Briefly, the gentleman wearing the light coloured jacket is reluctantly pimping the young woman (still a virgin and more naive than she appears) whom he is falling in love with.
