Don't worry about buying unlocked phones. In the rest of the world phones are unlocked, only are they locked in America.

Nokia, Motorola, etc, ship millions of unlocked phones. It's not going to be as if the phone was hacked or anything.

This is 100% incorrect. Locked phones are sold in nearly all territories. It IS true that all manufacturers ship unlocked versions in one way or another.

Iphone is GSM, and T-Mobile is GSM, so yes, unlocked it works like any other GSM phone.

That's a joke, right? The way that you've phrased that, it sounds like you are being sarcastic. It works fine. There's been mods to enable the iPhone to work on the T-Mobile network in the US (and in Europe) since Sept. 2007. I have an iPhone on the T-Mobile USA network about 4 feet away from me.

If you want a Business phone, look at the Nokia E51. It has Wifi, GPS, is in bar form, and fairly slim. I'll be buying this in a month or so.

There are more than 1 things i don like about iPhone and not having FM is one of them.

Noka N95 is much better.

I cannot agree. I've spoken to more owners of the N95 that want to drop it in the toilet than love it. The iPhone gets loved by all owners, even in spite of some very serious failings as a smartphone.

what's wrong with iPods? They have a pretty slick, easy to use UI and sync with iTunes which makes sh!t easy. My GF has a Zune and MS's software for it is horrible, the latest version is better but it's still no iTunes. And t be honest iTunes ain't the best even. There is nothing sub par about iPods, they might not be the best but that's each persons opinion. my iPod Touch IS better, there's nothing sub par about it. And I love being able to go to BB or CC or mostly any store and having 2 isles of accessories I can buy. Point me to an MP3 player I can buy where I can watch Youtube videos & play Nintendo games (to name a few things) and I will admit my Touch is "sub par" my Touch which ain't even a phone can do almost as much *non phone wise* as my Motorola Q, which is pretty amazing.

iPods are good, not great, people love them because they work, the iPod Touch is on another level, minus the limited storage I've never seen an MP3 player that has impressed me as much. the iPhone has some flaws, but as a whole it's the best thing out there. I would buy one for the Visual Voicemail feature alone, probably the most useful thing around. And unless you bring up some lame beta software that ties in with a company that costs $$$ monthly. You can't get Visual Voicemail on a WM phone. I'm not a fan boy, infact the first Apple product I've owned is a Touch. When the new iPhone drops I will be getting it, I even switched from Verizon to AT&T in anticipation.

haha I knew I'd ruffle some feathers with that statement. I will keep this brief because it's totally off topic, but...

-iTunes is terrible. I despite iTunes and everything about it
-historically, iPods were EXTREMELY overpriced. This has gotten better in the newer iterations, but come on...what about the last 10 years? Competitors offered better devices for lower prices, and people still forked over their cash for the iPod

As for the iPhone being the best thing out there as a whole.....no. The N95 dominates it on so many levels. For starters, it has a BETTER interface. Touch screen might be "new", but that doesn't mean it's better. Typing on those things is terrible. Not to mention the many, many features the iPhone lacks in comparison.

Anyway, I'm not going on any more anti-apple rants in this thread. If you want to discuss it more, we can do it elsewhere.

BETTER interface according to whome? I'm not going to get into an apple discussion but I find your statements about the N95 cute. As DividedBYZero said, I have also seem many people complaining about their N95, Nokia phones are pretty bad, they typically go for flashy and super high end crap like 5MP camera, etc. I wouldn't touch an N95 with a 10 foot poll, I've read far too many upset owner stories

edit: Actually I will talk about the N95 vs iPhone a little, as it is pretty on topic.

I think the interface is better. Clearly that is subjective and a matter of opinion, but I've used both, and I prefer the N95's, in a big way.

You want to talk "flashy"? How about the multi-touch interface? That's all flash, no substance. Things like the 5MP camera, GPS, 3G...those are REAL features that you can USE, that the iPhone does not have. It's impossible to deny that from a features standpoint, the N95 blows the iPhone out of the water.

And as for Nokia phones "being pretty bad", the N95 is my 5th Nokia phone, I've also had a Sony Ericcson, Seimens, Samsung, Blackberry, and 2 HTC's....yes I am a phone whore and upgrade way too often...and my experience with Nokia is always great.

Granted I've only had the N95 for a little over a month, but I've certainly had no complaints.

No, but depending on what application you use, it may use data.

With the Nokia Maps application included with the phone, you can pre-download maps and transfer them to the phone. Voice navigation is an additional $9/month. I personally prefer Google Maps - it's free, also uses the GPS, but it does use data.
