Get the Best Of's .... 1980-1990 and 1990-2000.
They'll give you a good panorama.

I started with those two. Now I have five DVDs and five albums.

Probably joshua, but also achtung is awesome (though quite different in sound), war, and all that you can't leave behind. Really it's hard to say a best, because most of them are so good - pop being probably the worst one.

War and Actung Baby, I have all but Pop, of the U2 albums, and those three are the best, u can also get U2-the best of 1980-1990, thats a good one also

or get the best of 1980-1990 or best of 1990-2000 for a lil bit of everything...

U2 rocks!

War is the best of the "old" U2, with Boy being a very close second.
Achtung Baby is the best of the "new" U2.

Not actually an album, but its got the best of U2's music on it: Live At Slane Castle DVD.
Wish they would come out with a companion cd to it.
